Description
The Drakenzicht Country Lodge and Mountain Links Golf Course is set high up on a mountain-top right on the edge of the Drakensberg escarpment, where the grasslands of the Mpumalanga Highveld meets the warm Lowveld. Just a two and a half hours' drive from OR Tambo International Airport, the lodge also enjoys uninterrupted views of the Schoemanskloof valley with its spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Drakenzicht is an ideal golf and country destination, perfect for the family weekend getaway or a stopover en-route to the Kruger National Park, Mozambique or Swaziland.

Drakenzicht offers accommodation for up to 18 guests in stone-built chalets, each facing towards the mountains and valley. Golf is available on site, with the 9-hole Mountain Links course to challenge even the most experienced golfer. Golf carts are also available.

Drakenzicht is situated in a malaria-free area and can be used as a central base for day excursions to the Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon, Graskop, Kaapsehoop, Sudwala caves and much more. Fishing is available on site, with four dams available for tilapia fishing. Nearby activities include birding, mountain biking, swimming, star-gazing, and walking trails.

Drakenzicht The Mountain Links & Lodge in Schoemanskloof Reviewed by Charmaine Moore, South Africa on . Challenging course It was a lovely 4 days at Drakenzicht. Our hosts were most gracious and our children enjoyed playing with their boys. Cycling is probably not for the novice as the terrain is hilly and rocky. The golf course is a challenge. Take lots of balls. Accomodation was clean and adequate. We spent little time indoors but do take something to read as there are lots of "downtime."
